Walls are going up fast!

I was able to walk the new building Wednesday and WOW! The walls are going up fast and the building is taking shape. 530 wells are being drilled down 250ft for the Geothermal system. Most of the roof is on and things are progressing well.

The 1st picture is of me standing in one of the classrooms on the north end and behind me are the front offices. The 2nd pic is from the main intersection of the building looking west to the academic wing. The 3rd pic is looking into the library from the entrance looking north which will be almost all windows. And the 4th pic is looking into the Big gym, through the weight room, and into the smaller gym on the back side.
It's looking great so far!!

It's becoming a building!!

Wow! The progress is coming along very well. The walls are going up fast and much of the roof is on. There are actually more walls up and more roof up now than what is in this picture. They are also working on paving some of the driveways. It's actually looking like a building now. Yea! With the walls going up and the roof on, they will eventually be at a point that any weather won't slow down the building process inside. I am posting a couple of recent aerial photos. It's looking good!!

Building update (Aug. 3, 2010)

I apologize for waiting so long to update the blog. The building is on schedule so far this summer. The steel is up, much of the concrete for the "mud floor" and the 1st floor has been poured, the hundreds of wells for the geothermal HVAC system have been drilled on the north end of the campus grounds, and the FB field has taken shape somewhat.

I will hopefully update the blog a little more often as the walls & structure start to take more shape. It's always good to hear things are on schedule. We look forward to a smooth move in on Aug. of 2011.

Plans are finalized and dirt is still moving

The plans have pretty much been finalized and will go to the school board for approval this month. Here is an updated picture of the dirt work. The piers are starting to get poured. We are moving right along! We are getting excited about how beautiful this building will be. We are also excited to have the only school building in Texas to have solar panel completely supply all the power. We received the $2 million grant to help fund this eco-friendly power source. I'm sure we will be giving many tours once we move in.

New Carroll Middle School building

Thanks for visiting my blog about the new middle school building.

We have dirt movement and construction is underway for the new Carroll Middle School building. The school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2011. I will be blogging periodically as we move through the construction process. I will also try to post pictures as the building is being constructed so you can follow us along.

You can also access the construction webcam on site 24/7. It has a time lapse feature that will show the progression from day one. Very cool!
